NEW DATES FOR RELICENSURE WEEK! NOW NOVEMBER 3RD TO THE 6TH!

SouthWest Metro is hosting its annual Relicensure Days the week of November 3rd to November 6th!

Join us to complete your relicensure needs by participating in virtual sessions. Sessions include Cultural Competency, American Indian History and Culture, Reading preparation, Suicide Prevention Training, and Positive Behavior Intervention.

Registration Ends October 30th at 5:00 p.m.

Classes begin at $25 a session for member district staff and free for SWMetro employees.

To ensure you have the best learning experience while attending this professional development session please…

  • Arrive on time.
  • Make sure your first and last names are showing in your video display. This will be used to take attendance at the beginning of the session. If you are attending with more than one person on one camera, please type all participants’ first and last names in the chat.
  • Keep your camera on.
  • Attend the whole session.
  • Complete the feedback survey at the end of the session.

CEU certificates will be emailed after the session.

As a youth worker and educator, anything you can do to ensure your own program space is welcoming and safe for Indigenous youth will help reduce their risk for negative outcomes. An inclusive space, representing Indigenous culture and inviting connection with traditions and community, contributes to a much-needed and vital sense of belonging. This virtual training will help you incorporate Indigenous culture into your work. You will develop confidence to create culturally inclusive programming and encourage supportive dialogue. You’ll learn how to draw on Indigenous tradition and culture to better support young people of various tribal connections in your program spaces. You’ll learn about various tools and activity examples you can use. This session meets the Cultural Competency and American Indian History and Culture relicensure requirements.

Suicide Prevention: Question, Persuade, Refer
Fall Licensure Week

Learn the three steps anyone can take to help prevent suicide. Just like CPR, QPR is an emergency response to someone in crisis and can save lives. QPR is the most widely taught gatekeeper training program in the United States, and more than one million adults have been trained in classroom settings in 48 states. This 1.5 hour virtual class is for members of the community over the age of 16 who want to learn best practices in suicide prevention.
